Lone Star Leadership Academy - Austin/San Antonio

The Austin/San Antonio camp is for 5th-7th grade leaders! After breakfast at the camp lodge, Lone Star Leaders kick-off each day with a new leadership skill in morning leadership groups. Then it's off on the charter bus to experience exciting and fun Texas sites all over Austin and San Antonio! Many of the sites tie-in with the leadership skill of the day. And, lunches and dinners are at restaurants, which the Leaders love!

Austin/San Antonio camp highlights include touring the Texas State Capitol and appointments for each Leader to visit the Austin offices of their state legislators, visiting the burial site of Stephen F. Austin, “Father of Texas”, and other famous Texans at the Texas State Cemetery, sitting on the bench of the Supreme Court of Texas, traveling through Texas’ largest cavern, Natural Bridge Caverns, seeing the largest urban bat colony emerge from under Austin’s Congress Avenue Bridge, touring the site of the most celebrated military engagement in Texas history, The Alamo, and gliding across the crystal clear waters of the San Marcos River on a glass-bottom boat! Check out this Meadows Center for Water and the Environment video featuring our very own Lone Star Leaders and visit the links below to learn more about sites visited during this camp.
