Which Camp Experience?
Lone Star Leadership Academy camps are open to students in certain sets of grade levels, by location:
- Dallas/Fort Worth for students currently in 4th-6th grades
- Austin/San Antonio for students currently in 5th-7th grades
- Houston/Galveston for students currently in 6th-8th grades
For this reason, we recommend that all 6th graders sign up for the Dallas/Fort Worth camp first so that in the future they will be able to participate in all Lone Star Leadership Academy camps should they desire to do so. For example, if a 6th grader signed up for the Austin/San Antonio camp first, he or she would be ineligible for the Dallas/Fort Worth camp the following summer. Similarly, if a 7th grader signed up for the Houston/Galveston camp first, he or she would miss out on the opportunity to participate in the Austin/San Antonio camp.
Students who participate in all three Lone Star Leadership Academy camps earn the Trailblazer designation at the conclusion of their final program.
