4th - 8th Grade Science, San Marcos, TX

Explore the wonders of Texas above and below ground on this exciting, hands-on field trip! Caverns and Critters begins at the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, where students investigate the wetlands, learn about water conservation and wildlife habitats, and enjoy a glass-bottom boat tour to see life beneath the water’s surface.

Afterward, students continue the adventure with a choice of two amazing cave experiences:

  • Natural Bridge Caverns – Journey through Texas’s largest and most spectacular cave system, marveling at dramatic formations and learning about geology and natural processes. Also includes a human maze!

  • Wonder World Cave & Adventure Park – Explore a real earthquake-formed cave and discover interactive exhibits, including an anti-gravity house and train ride with petting zoo, that make earth science engaging and fun.

Perfect for science classrooms, Caverns and Critters combines ecology, geology, and hands-on exploration for a memorable day of learning.
