What is Education in Action?
Education in Action is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people to be informed and active leaders in their communities. Education in Action offers Lone Star Leadership Academy summer camps, Discover Texas Field Trips, and Discover Texas Field Trips In a Box.
How is Discover Texas Field Trips In a Box different from a typical school field trip?
Discover Texas Field Trips In a Box brings field trip fun to your classroom. Programs enable students to experience famous Texas sites with engaging curriculum and souvenirs from the comfort of your classroom!
What is the cost of the program?
$30 per student for in-person classrooms within the Dallas/Fort Worth area (boxes delivered to school)*
$35 per student for in-person classrooms outside the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and homeschool families*
*One teacher box per class and and one administrator box per program are included in student program fee for school programs.
What is included in the cost of the program?
One box for each participating student, one box for each participating teacher that includes step-by-step instructions, prizes, and a special teacher gift, one administrator box, and a post-program thank you box with a souvenir photo for each participating student and teacher. Teacher and administrator boxes are included for FREE.

How long does it take to receive the boxes? How early do I need to place my order?
Once payment and t-shirt order are received, boxes will be delivered or shipped within 2-3 weeks. Payments must be made by check or credit card; purchase orders are not accepted.
Do teachers pay?
No. One teacher box per class is included at no additional charge.
Does our administrator receive a teacher box?
One administrator box with a program mascot plushy, t-shirt, and an educator gift will be delivered/mailed to each participating school.
How do you pay for the program?
Payment must by provided in one check from the school.
How much time does it take to complete an "In a Box" program?
Each program is designed to take place during a school day; like a true field trip. Teachers may, however, decide to use the material over several class periods. A Teacher Manual is included with each program and gives the approximate amount of time needed for each activity.
